Health & Safety
We consider health & safety to be one of the most important aspects of our business.
All of our senior management have received training on construction related legislation and are committed to achieve the highest standards in health and safety. All site personnel are provided with the most up to date training to ensure that they not only deliver the quality of workmanship our clients demand but also they ensure it is completed with minimum risk to health & safety and with a zero accident goal in mind.
In order to obtain advice and up to date information on all Health and Safety matters, Broadoak retains the services of Principal Health and Safety Ltd who are health and safety consultants. Principal Health and Safety have in excess of 24 years experience in leisure and retail construction and are members of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health; the International Institution of Risk and Safety Management; the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health and the Association for Project Safety.
Their safety advisors make regular inspections of our sites and ensure that our site operations are carried out safely and in accordance with our Company Policy. Copies of all reports are left on site for any appropriate action to be taken but they are also forwarded to Mr G. Horton (Chairman) who ensures that adequate resources are available for the project team, in order to manage all aspects of health & safety.
Principal Health and Safety are advisers to management at all levels, and their presence in no way relieves our management of responsibility. Through regular meetings, site visits and the annual Company Review, their advice and guidance is available to all Company employees.
Emma Sykes is our in-house Quality Manager/H&S Advisor.
Emma has passed her CITB Site Managers H&S Training Certificate/NEBOSH Certificate and level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Part 1. She is also a member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health as a Technician Member and International Institution of Risk and Safety Management.
